Sunday 9th December

Today’s feature is Electraglide in Red starring Bram as Robert Blake (see note following report).

The group followed the lanes from Evenwood Gate to Ingleton and to Piercebridge and the Farm Café for lunch.

In a break with tradition Les decided not to break into a £5 note as he was saving his money to visit B&Q to collect  a new cupboard door which he expected would fit on his bike!

Bram and Glyn returned via the climb to Bolam with Bram assisted by his Electraglide in Red and  Glyn by a huge tailwind.

A steady return back to Bishop Auckland with around 30 miles covered.

Acknowledgement to Glyn for the information on this ride.

Note:- Electraglide in Blue was a cult motor cycle film in 1973 starring Robert Blake.  His Harley had less features than Bram’s big red machine!

A report from the other lot will follow when available.

The Other Lot – went via Staindrop, Whorlton , Caldwell to Barton Services for much needed refueling  Initially it was hard work due to the very windy conditions, luckily there were some places we actually had a bit of a tailwind! Return via Piercebridge and Ingleton – about 50 miles for all but hard ones.
